Keeping up with trends. Marine Jobboard shows the way.
To maintain success in a fast-changing business world, companies need to respond quickly to new commercial trends. Marine Jobboard, an Internet Job Board that uniquely connects job seekers with employers in the marine industry, has recently undergone just such a re-branding and re-focussing.
Managing Director Jamie Ashman explains,
“Although we launched www.marinejobboard.co.uk only 7 months ago with an emphasis on bridging the skills shortages in the marine leisure industry, we’ve recently started to see serious interest from several large commercial boat builders and ferry operators. We’re now advertising appointments ranging from European Sales Directors to Apprenticeships and deckhands.”
To complement the re-focus to a more corporate, commercial image, Marine Jobboard has invested in a new website and fresh, contemporary corporate branding.
Employers and job seekers visiting the website will notice that, in addition to the new commercial emphasis, Marine Jobboard is now working with Training Organisations such as the CoVE for Marine Industries, colleges, and universities, as well as actively taking part in networking events such as Marine Southeast.
Jobboards are not recruitment agencies. They support a company’s recruitment strategy by providing a larger database of potential applicants quickly. Unlike using standard recruitment agencies, the potential employer retains control of the process.
The marine industry continues to suffer from severe skills shortages, though job seekers and potential employers are increasingly using the internet to search for jobs and suitable applicants. Today over 50% of all job applications are made online. Company-specific websites only attract a limited number of applicants with transferable skills from other industries because not everyone is familiar with marine industry names. They need a focal point, and this explains the growing success of Marine Jobboard, still the only jobboard dedicated exclusively to the marine industry.
